My father had to go to (Mexico?) some far away land to save (my mother or a situation). I urged him to hurry. He probably would not have gone if it had not been for my pleading as he was on the fence and still deciding. I ran through the back yard and into the house from the back. My father used the front door. He scrambled to get everything he needed. I watched him, my heart racing. Right before he left he said “if you need a bigger house key it’s right behind here.” And he pointed to behind the TV stand. I was a little confused since we only have the regular sized house key that’s on the key holder. I put it out of my mind because the entire situation was so highly charged. My father had a long journey ahed of him. A very sketchy guy, not necessarily evil just bad news guy, took advantage of the absence of people around me & stopped by immediately after. I knew this was some bad news. He’s always up to something. He was asking about some key. He said he needed a key. I was confused, but I didn’t want to let him know. So, I did my annoyed look & slow walk back into the house & grabbed one of the keys from the key holder. When I brought it to him, he was very angry with me. He thought I was messing with him. He told me that I knew what he was talking about and to give him the red key. Something clicked in my mind. I went to go get the key from behind the tv stand. And just as I went through the door back into the house (we’re talking on the porch the whole time). A tall white man with grey-white streaked hair. His hair was longer, stopped just after it reached his neck. The hair was slicked back. I walked backwards back to the porch. The man slowly walked to the porch. There was a darkness about this man. He was carrying scissors the size of ribbon cutting scissors, but it was all covered in red dripping wax. He asked my sketchy “friend,” is this the scissors you were looking for. He said nothing. The man walked toward him. He was talking about something about the key, maybe the power of it? The history? The consequences? I don’t know something. I tuned out everything he was saying. My eyes and focus were solely on these red scissors. Everything went so fast after that. I was to use these scissors with this man. As we were both hold each side of the scissors, the man looked at my sketchy guy that always bothers me, but who I shall call “friend” for time’s sake. As he looked at him, the man started to guide me toward him, as well. The man was looking toward my “friend,” but his next words directed toward the both of us. He was saying how the cut must be swift & [deep & thorough(?)]. And just before he finished that sentence, the scissors were already around the sketchy guy’s neck. My eyes were wide, my body full of fear. I did not let go. My emotions were frantic borderline hysterical. My eyes darting between the two. Seeing the fear in my sketchy “friend’s” eyes & the menace & vindictiveness in this man’s eyes. The only comprehensible thought in my mind was that my sketchy “friend” wanted to die. I still did not let go. My hands glued onto those scissors. He shoved an ancient looking scroll contract into my “friend’s” face & said that he knew he could not do this alone. I looked at the contents of the contract. The words were in cursive, was a thick, deep, dark font. The very first sentence was two lines. I only caught glimpse but two words were underlined “mortal” & “immortal” (or it could’ve said “death”). It was saying something about how only the two could use the scissors together for it to work. But the man removed the contract just as swiftly as he brought it out & I could not see all that it entailed. We were just about to go through with the cut, my “friend’s” eyes were in full i look panic, the dream stopped & I woke up.
This dream is rich with symbolism, emotions, and interpersonal dynamics. Here are some key elements to consider in interpretation: 1. **The Journey and Your Father**: Your father leaving for a faraway place, possibly for a noble cause, symbolizes a quest for resolution, protection, or intervention in your life. This may reflect feelings of needing support or guidance in times of stress or uncertainty. Your pleading conveys a desire for assistance when facing challenges. 2. **Keys**: Keys often symbolize access, knowledge, or solutions to problems. Your confusion about the "big key" and the subsequent interaction with the sketchy man could represent feelings of being unprepared for a situation. The red key mentioned by the man may indicate an urgent or troubling issue, with the color red often symbolizing danger, urgency, or deep emotional states. 3. **The Sketchy Guy**: This character embodies traits of deception or mistrust in your life, possibly representing someone or something that you feel uneasy about or that takes advantage of your vulnerabilities. Your initial response shows awareness of this person’s negative influence. 4. **The Scissors**: Scissors typically represent cutting, separation, or the ability to make critical decisions. The fact that they are covered in dripping wax suggests that the choices you face may be intertwined with strong emotions, perhaps even a sense of sacrifice or damage. Using scissors with the ominous man suggests you are grappling with the act of making a decisive cut or ending a toxic dynamic. 5. **The Ancient Scroll Contract**: This would represent the gravity of the choices you're facing, suggesting that they are not only significant but may also have lasting implications. The words "mortal" and "immortal" highlight a dichotomy—perhaps indicating a struggle between allowing certain aspects of your life to end (mortal) versus wanting some things to endure (immortal). 6. **Emotional Turmoil**: Your frantic emotions during the climax of the dream imply stress and anxiety surrounding decisions you must make or changes you must confront. You seem caught between fear of the consequences of your actions and a sense of urgency to act, reflecting a struggle with vulnerability, fear of change, or even confronting parts of yourself or your relationships. 7. **The Confrontation**: The moment of confrontation with your “friend” underlines a crucial aspect of the dream—interpersonal conflicts, dependency, or the question of whether to sever ties with someone detrimental to your well-being. In essence, this dream reveals an internal conflict—navigating feelings of fear, pressure, and the need for transformation in your current situations. It suggests an urgent need to confront and possibly sever ties with negative influences in your life while also recognizing the complexity of choices you face—choices deeply entwined with your emotional state and relationships. It may be helpful to reflect on current relationships or circumstances that resonate with the elements in your dream, allowing you to process these feelings in waking life.
